Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (RQF) level 3
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is the qualification that allows you to practise as a qualified assessor. It is suitable to assessors in classrooms and professional training. This is a Level 3 assessing vocational achievement certification that replaced the previous A1/2 and D32\33 assessor qualification. It is also known TAQA (Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance).Â
By the end of this course, you will be ready to proceed to a career in evaluating vocational competencies for a range of qualifications including apprenticeships, NVQ’s diploma courses etc. This is a online study course which means you will study from home and therefore have the freedom to fit your studies around your family life and other commitments. You will have a dedicated tutors that would support you through the journey with planned one to one session. You will access to interactive materials we provide contact tutors via email, phone and the online portal.
On average, learners will take between 4–6 months to complete this course.

Unit One: Understanding the principles and practices of assessmentÂ
On completion of this unit you will:

- Understand how to plan assessment
- Understand how to involve learners and others in assessment
- Understand how to make assessment decisions
- Understand quality assurance of the assessment process
- Understand how to manage information relating to assessment
- Understand the legal and good practice requirements in relation to assessment
Unit Two: Assess occupational competence in the work environment Â
On completion of this unit, you will:
- Be able to make assessment decisions about occupational competence
- Be able to provide required information following the assessment of occupational competence
- Be able to maintain legal and good practice requirements when assessing occupational competence
- Be able to plan the assessment of occupational competence
Entry Requirements
You would need a good standard of written and verbal communication skills. You would require a degree/professional/vocational; qualification at Level 3 and above.  Learners need to be working with who are working towards NVQ/RQF/QCF qualification in order to fulfil the criteria.
Minimum age restriction
You must be aged 19 or older to enrol on this course.
Average completion timeframe
The average time it takes to complete this course is 4–6 months
Assessment requirements
You will undergo an assessment of knowledge and practical assessment practice through observation, reflection, a case study, and written work.
Placement or Practical required
Learners need to be working or have a placement in a suitable environment delivering NVQ/QCF/RFQ qualifications and assessing a minimum of two learners. They must have access to an IV (Internal Verifier) that would support, witness and confirm the learner has undertaken work as s presented. They would also would need to access to Standardisation meetings within the organisation.

You will be assessed through a variety of assignments.
Unit 2Â
You will be assessed via direct observations, evidence of work products, professional discussions, expert witness, and reflective accounts. Â

You will be assessed via direct observations, evidence of work products, professional discussions, expert witness and reflective accounts. Â
Certificate
On completion of this course, you will receive the TQUK Level 3 (RQF) Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement qualification.
